Roger Hamilton is a bond broker at Kaplan Stewart International where he runs the UK GILT desk. The rapist has an uncanny way of keeping a step ahead of the police and is determined to become the most famous serial rapist ever by beating Dan Crosby?s record. He?s even kind enough to document his work in the form of a wall collage in his flat, so that the police will have all the proof necessary. But he will only allow himself to be caught on his terms and when he?s ready. Can Frank and Roger catch him before more innocent victims are scarred for life? As their hunt brings them closer to their prey, neither of them can imagine the horrific truth they are about to discover.

I normally figure out the villain in these books long before the middle of the book and hate the sense of waiting for the others in the story to catch up. However, The Habit was different.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book, for me to enjoy a book it is about painting a picture / scene, that makes you feel that you are with the characters looking over their shoulder or being one of them for the turn of each page, and this book did that which isn?t always the case with an author?s first book.

I was at a literary luncheon where I heard the author speak about his debut novel, "The Habit". He did a good job of selling it to me, so I bought a copy.
The first chapter had me gripped and wanting to read on. I like the short chapters, perfect for reading on the tube to and from work. The dialogue is good and very easy to read and the final half of the book just flys. I couldn't put it down.
